Stringing Power Lines with a Helicopter

This photo shows one of the helicopters running a main power line between poles across the street from my house. Every day between 7 & 7:30 a.m. the helicopters start flying, carrying power poles to remote ridges, water to dampen down the dust so workers don’t get sand-blasted too much, and, of course, wires to carry power from civilization to our remote haven here in the wilderness.

All told, I’ll be really glad when it’s all over and things get quiet around here again…
