Another friend of mine forwarded an image-heavy e-mail about an anti-Palin rally in Anchorage. To say that the images and the story were amazing is an understatement of the highest water.
To quote the original author, AKMuckraker:
Never, have I seen anything like it in my 17 and a half years living in Anchorage. The organizers had someone walk the rally with a counter, and they clicked off well over 1400 people (not including the 90 counter-demonstrators). This was the biggest political rally ever, in the history of the state. I was absolutely stunned. The second most amazing thing is how many people honked and gave the thumbs up as they drove by. And even those that didn’t honk looked wide-eyed and awe-struck at the huge crowd that was growing by the minute. This just doesn’t happen here.
The photos of the signs people brought to the rally are amazing. The YouTube video shows hundreds and hundreds of people there. And the best part is that a pro-Palin radio jockey announced the rally, thinking (very mistakenly) that other pro-Palin folks would outnumber those against her.

As a Planned Parenthood nurse, I wanted to thank you for the comment you made on mudflats’ blog. Our organization is dedicated to Sen. Obama’s campaign. Sarah Palin is nothing less than anti-woman.
I only wish it had been my idea, it’s so appropriate. All I can do is spread the word, say what I know to be true, and pray that others will stand up and take action in support of life. IMO, forcing women to bear unwanted children and taking away their rights to control their own bodies is life-denying, no matter what the so-called pro-lifers may claim.
Keep the faith!

P.S. Yes, I put my money where my mouth is. Planned Parenthood got my $10, donated in honor of Sarah Palin. IMO it’s the best ten bucks I’ve spent in a *long* time!
Sarah Palin does have a rather large supporter base. Its hilarious when some of them are interviewed and cannot explain why they support her. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/23/palin-supporters-struggle_n_367800.html
